JSJS Designs plc design, develop and manufacture home automation systems that enable consumers to remotely operate everyday household appliances.
Approach
Launched in 2007, initial products were sold into B&Q through the ‘‘HomeEasy’’ brand. Together these products enabled many home appliances to be linked and operated remotely anywhere in the world. They included an SMS Base Station capable of remote operation by mobile telephone and a handheld communication device, the Handset, for use within the home. These products were designed to interact, through both infra-red and radio, with a range of domestic devices made by third parties, including TV, DVD, central heating controls, automatic door openers and lighting.
JSJS has been involved in an extensive research and development phase for the last two years and is now about to launch the next generation of home automation products The company has pioneered and aimed at perfecting the high level functionality yet low-cost bolt-on approach, in which the average home can be automated at a low cost. The new range of products will enable the concept of the smart home to be within the reach of the mass consumer market.

The Directors of JS JS Design include: Non-executive Chairman Mike Lord, Chief Executive Officer John Thomas Shermer, Frank Barry Tiller who is the executive Finance Director and John Scot Sinclair, Chief Technical Officer. History
In 2006 John Shermer and John Sinclair began developing environmental controls for the domestic market. They then founded the Group in 2007. Shermer and Sinclair both have over 20 years of accumulated knowledge and knowhow of developing home automation systems for the severely physically disabled. Soon after initial products were launched in August 2007, Group turnover exceeded £1million.
